QA’A “VESPRADA”
“It materializes as free-jazz cacophony, all screeching and snorting; then as a crescendo, sustained by locomotive-like rhythm and Sonic Youth-esque guitar repetition; then as alien videogame-like signals; then as abstract dissonant soundpainting; then as a mysteriously droning saxophone fanfare.” (Scaruffi review / 7.5 )
Vesprada is the first album by Qa’a and is a record in its own league. Its music flows with little regard of styles sometimes fusing psychedelia, electronica, noise, dada, ambient, tribal/primitivistic music, free jazz, dub and free improvisation all in one song. A point somewhere in between meticulous composition and wild improvisation, it sounds like an undiscovered magical underworld.
